THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is a non-psychoactive compound found in raw cannabis. It does not produce the "high" typically associated with THC because it does not bind well to cannabinoid receptors in the brain. However, once THCA is decarboxylated (through heat or aging), it converts to THC, which can produce psychoactive effects such as euphoria, relaxation, and altered sensory perception.
